Paradise Exotics offers
DNA sexing to safely determine the gender your
bird. Results are guaranteed by the lab to be 99.99% accurate. There
is no test that is 100% accurate. There are two methods of obtaining DNA
samples:
1- by obtaining a small
sample of blood from a toe nail. The loss of blood is minimal and will not
affect the health of your bird.
2- from the egg shell of a
newly hatched baby.
Once the laboratory
receives the sample from us, they process the sample and mail us a
certificate. Once we receive the certificate (usually within 7-10 days of
analysis), we will notify you by phone and mail the certificate to you. If
results are needed sooner than this, preliminary results can normally be
obtained within 24 hours after the laboratory receives the sample from us.
The cost of this service is
